Promotional Products and Direct Mail

Promotional products have a hand in proving that direct mail is alive kicking.

I can confirm and have proof that the reports of death are greatly exaggerated. Direct mail is alive and kicking and living in South London.

Here are three instances that happened in the past to verify this:

The first was an email received from a new client back then who I send a small thank you gift to by direct mail:

“Hi Mo,

Thank you that is very kind of you!

I would just like to say thank you for your services, everybody I have spoken to at Clubrow Creations has been very friendly and professional.

You provide a great service the uniform arrived in a timely manner, so again a big thank you to you and the team at Clubrow Creations.

Kind regards,


Second was in response to a kind of shock and awe package sent out to a lapsed customer and his reply was:

“Mo, You’ve got some pretty impressive marketing ideas I’ll give you that!

We have a trade exhibition we need to stock up for at the end of April so will be in touch soon.  Ben”

Last was the if I told you what we sent out yesterday, you probably wouldn’t believe me thing, which caused quite a stir:

It was the Valentines gifts we sent to a few of our top clients a couple of years back.

We received emails from three people of the same company asking for help with some promotional products. Two ended their email with, P.S. – Thank you for the chocolates! [smiley face]” and one said, P.S. – where were my chocolates [sad face]”.

Also, another email:

“Mo, Hi

I’ve just received my Valentine from “someone at Club Row” and thought you should know – it’s fantastic!”

The gifts were either a giant heart shaped cookie personalised with the person’s name or a small box of Lily O’Brian chocolates. See for yourself what I meant when I said, people would say this is not normal.

So if you’re not keeping in touch with your customers, clients and prospects by sending them something in the post, don’t you think it’s at least worth a try?
